You need a web browser with Javascript enabled
and QuickTime installed. The videos are produced
in the H.264 format and use the QuickTime Player.
Safari and Firefox are the preferred browsers.
No. Your subscription provides you access to view
the video tutorials, but not to download and
archive the content. RapidWeaver Classroom
exclusively owns the rights to the videos, and
this is outlined in the Terms of Use agreement
that you accept when subscribing. Users who
attempt to download and save the video files will
have their subscription cancelled without the
option to re-subscribe. This is standard practice
among online video training libraries.
The 30-day subscription option does require that
you have a PayPal account, or that you create one
during the registration process. The reason for
this is that the 30-day subscription option uses
an automatic renewal system, and so PayPal must
have your information on file to charge for
renewals. RapidWeaver Classroom uses PayPal for
payment processing and renewals because it is the
most secure method for handling your financial
information. If you would like to subscribe to
the 30-day option but do not want to create a
PayPal account, please
contact
us for alternative payment options.
The 6-month and 1-year subscription options are
not on an automatic renewal
system and
do not require a
PayPal account for registration. A basic credit
card transaction is all that is needed to
subscribe to the 6-month and 1-year options.
The merchant account is setup through my company
name,
digitaLife productions,
so this is what you will see on a credit
card statement or other billing statement.
Your subscription gives you 30-day access to the
library of video tutorials. The subscription is
recurring, meaning that it will automatically
renew at the end of the 30-day period unless you
cancel. The renewal will extend your subscription
another 30 days and continue to do so until you
cancel.
Log-in to RapidWeaver Classroom and click on the
Membership Information link. If asked to login
again then do so. You will be presented with your
membership information, and under the Product
column on your payment history you will see a
link to cancel your subscription. The
cancellation is handled through PayPal.
IMPORTANT
In order to receive a refund
after renewal, you need to cancel within 3 days
of the renewal
AND contact
me directly to request your refund.
Canceling through the Membership
Information page will
NOT
automatically generate a refund.
No, your subscription will remain active until
the date of expiration at the conclusion of your
30-day subscription period.
You can actually cancel your subscription the
day after you first subscribe and your
subscription will remain active for the full 30
days. Canceling your subscription does not
disable your access to the tutorials, it simply
prevents your subscription from recurring at
the end of the 30-day period.
You have up to 3 days following your subscription
renewal to cancel, but after that 3-day period
your subscription is renewed for the remainder of
the new 30-day period. For example, if your
subscription renews on June 1st and you cancel on
June 3rd, you will receive a refund for that
30-day period and your subscription will be
cancelled and access to the tutorials removed.
However, if you do not cancel until June 4th then
a refund will not be available and your new
30-day subscription will remain active. At that
point you will need to cancel through the
Membership Information page to prevent your
subscription from renewing again at the end of
the new 30-day period.
IMPORTANT
In order to receive a refund
after renewal, you need to qualify (as noted
above)
AND contact
me directly to request the
cancellation and refund. Canceling through
the Membership Information page will
NOT automatically
generate a refund.
No, refunds are only available for those who have
cancelled a subscription renewal in the first 3
days following the renewal.
The changes made to RapidWeaver 4.0 are mostly
cosmetic, meaning that the user interface has
changed significantly. Those changes are
addressed in Lesson 1 for RapidWeaver 4.0. Aside
from that there are just a few new features which
are covered in the Lesson 2 tutorials.
The remaining functionality of RapidWeaver 4.0
is the same as version 3.6, so there is not a
need to reproduce the other lessons and
tutorials with RapidWeaver 4.0. This means that
3rd-party plugin tutorials and other helpful
videos can be produced sooner.
RapidWeaver 4.0 users should go through Lessons
1 and 2 of RapidWeaver 4.0, and then view the
other lessons and tutorials that fall under the
RapidWeaver 3.6 heading.
The video tutorials are presented in a
high-resolution format, resulting in large file
sizes averaging between 60MB and 100MB each. Some
connections, even high-speed ones, might struggle
with downloading the video quick enough to keep
up with the playback. If playback of the video
catches up with the part being downloaded then
this will result in the video pausing.
The way to avoid this is to pause the video at
the beginning before playback begins, and
allowing the progress bar to fill before
playing the video. The progress bar does not
need to fill completely, but the amount needed
will vary depending on your network connection,
so try letting it fill to 25% first and then
increase the amount if that still doesn't solve
the problem.
If you are having trouble viewing the videos then
try the following steps in order:
- Ensure you have the most up-to-date
version of the QuickTime Player. Check
Software Update or download it from the
website. If you are using an outdated
version of the QuickTime Player, download
and install the most recent version. You
will need to close and restart your
browser before trying to view the videos
again.
- Clear your browser cache. In Safari, go
to Safari in the menu and select Empty Cache.
In Firefox, go to Tools > Clear Private
Data > select the Cache option and click
OK. Restart the browser and try to view the
videos again.
- Ensure that your browser is set to accept
Javascript. In Safari, go to Safari in the
menu and select Preferences. Under the
Security tab, make sure that Javascript and
plug-ins are enabled. In Firefox, choose
Preferences from the Firefox menu, and select
Javascript from the Content tab. Restart the
browser and try again.
- Reboot your computer.
- If you have access to another computer,
log-in to RapidWeaver Classroom from that
computer and try to view the video tutorials.
If you are able to successfully view them
then that verifies the issue is with your
computer and that the website is operating
correctly.
- Still having trouble? Contact
us.
RapidWeaver Classroom does not officially support
the iPad at this time. A mobile version of the
site is being considered for future development,
but no definite timeline has been established.
